Architecture

Astarter's Four-Layer AI Economy architecture: Infrastructure, Node, Agent, and Application layers.

Astarter is built on a four-layer architecture designed to support autonomous AI agent operations at scale. Each layer is purpose-built to create a composable, self-reinforcing AI economy on-chain.

The Four Layers

Layer
Name
Description

Layer 1

Infrastructure Layer

High-performance blockchain with an AI-native execution environment for on-chain agent operation and settlement.

Layer 2

Node Layer

ABox nodes provide compute and execution, run AI agents and network tasks, and earn compute fees for the work they perform.

Layer 3

Agent Layer (CORE)

Autonomous AI agents that execute trades, strategies, and predictions on-chain.

Layer 4

Application Layer

AI DEX, Prediction Market, Data Market, Agent App Store · the user-facing products powered by agent activity.

Layer 1 · Infrastructure Layer

The foundation of the Astarter ecosystem is a high-performance blockchain with an AI-native execution environment. This layer handles:

  • On-chain agent settlement · All agent actions and fees are settled transparently on-chain

  • Smart contract execution · AI agents can natively call smart contracts to trade, stake, and interact with DeFi protocols

  • Cross-chain interoperability · Bridges to Cardano, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and other EVM-compatible ecosystems

  • Verifiable computation · All agent outputs are verifiable and auditable on-chain

Layer 2 · Node Layer (ABox)

The Node Layer is powered by ABox · Astarter's flagship plug-and-play hardware node. ABox nodes:

  • Provide compute and execution power for the Astarter network

  • Run AI agents for trading, prediction, analysis, and coordination

  • Earn compute fees for executing agent tasks, settling transactions, and providing network capacity

  • Form a global decentralized Web4 infrastructure as more nodes join

See ABox Product → for full node specifications and tier details.

Layer 3 · Agent Layer (CORE)

The Agent Layer consists of autonomous AI agents deployed on ABox nodes. These agents:

  • Execute trades, strategies, and predictions on-chain

  • Operate across multiple blockchains simultaneously

  • Earn fees from execution work, trading activity, and protocol services they perform

  • Coordinate with other agents for complex multi-step strategies

Agent types include:

  • Trading Agents · Arbitrage, market-making, liquidity optimization

  • Prediction Agents · On-chain and off-chain data analysis for prediction markets

  • Data Agents · Data generation, processing, and monetization

  • Custom Agents · User-defined agents deployed via the Agent Marketplace

Layer 4 · Application Layer

The Application Layer delivers user-facing DeFi and AI products powered by agent activity:

Application
Function

AI DEX

AI-optimized decentralized exchange with intelligent routing

Prediction Market

Agent-driven probability markets with on-chain resolution

Data Market

Decentralized marketplace for AI-generated and verified data

Agent App Store

Deploy, discover, buy, or rent specialized AI agents

See Use Cases → for detailed product descriptions.

How the Layers Interact

Tasks flow down the stack. User demand at the Application layer becomes tasks and orders for the Agent layer; agents reach the Node layer for compute and execution; nodes settle agent actions on the Infrastructure layer.

Settlement and fees flow back up. The Infrastructure layer guarantees on-chain finality for every action; nodes earn compute fees for the execution they performed; agents recycle their earnings into more activity at the Application layer.

The result is a closed loop: more application demand → more agent activity → more node capacity → more settlement throughput → more application demand.

Tech Stack

  • Protocol Base: BNB Chain (Phase 02 mainnet, 2026 Q3) · Cardano-era contracts (Haskell-verified) remain operational · multi-chain expansion in Phase 03+

  • Agent Framework: AI Agents · compatible with major open-source agent frameworks

  • Node Hardware: ABox (plug-and-play hardware node)

  • Cross-Chain: Bridges to Ethereum, BNB Chain, and other L1/L2 ecosystems
