Introduction

Astarter · Infrastructure for the Autonomous AI Economy.

Astarter is the infrastructure for an AI economy that runs on-chain. ABox nodes run agents, the on-chain execution layer settles their work, and $AST coordinates the participants who keep the network running.

For the formal technical specification, see the Astarter Whitepaper.

Mission

Make it possible for AI agents to execute, transact, and coordinate on-chain — without intermediaries, without permissioned infrastructure, and without ceding ownership to centralized operators.

What is Astarter?

Astarter combines three major forces · physical compute hardware, autonomous AI agents, and on-chain execution · into a unified infrastructure stack:

Pillar
Description

ABox Nodes

Plug-and-play compute hardware that runs AI agents and earns compute fees for the operator

CORE Agent Layer

Autonomous AI agents that execute trades, strategies, and predictions on-chain

Open Protocol (AI Agent)

AI agent framework compatible with major open-source agent SDKs

Application Layer

AI DEX, Prediction Market, Data Market, Agent Marketplace · all powered by CORE agents

$AST Token

The native utility and governance token powering the entire ecosystem

Core Vision

Astarter is a decentralized network where:

  • AI agents are owned by the people who deploy them, not by centralized operators

  • Agents execute on-chain, generating verifiable activity and fees from real work

  • Anyone can participate by running an ABox node, deploying agents, or providing liquidity

  • Fees are paid to participants for work they perform — running compute, providing liquidity, contributing data, building agents

This is Web4: physical compute infrastructure, autonomous AI, and on-chain settlement converging into a global agent network. The financial category these agents operate inside is DeFAI — see What is DeFAI? for the category framing.

Astarter is also building toward agent-to-agent commerce — a model where AI agents negotiate, transact, and settle payments autonomously across chains, including via emerging payment standards such as PayGo's x402.
